Honda daringly reintroduces the Prelude after 25 years, and it has big shoes to fill, as each prior generation has showcased the latest and greatest technology, which included both powertrain and chassis advancements.
Certainly, a lot has changed during the Prelude’s time away; there is hardly a market for the Prelude’s two-door coupe form, and big power figures are needed to satisfy the headline hunters. Thankfully, the development team seemingly never got the message, and in their isolation, created a new type of vehicle, one with greater range in both engine performance and chassis dynamics by pulling from Honda’s top shelf and then displaying a new “gearbox” technology whose sole focus is driver engagement. Simply put, it’s an absolute success – long live the Prelude.
